You don’t investigate. You don’t confront anyone. You don’t put yourself in danger.
You simply recognize that something may need attention.
Report
Use the secure reporting system to provide the information you are comfortable sharing. Reports can include:
- What you observed
- When it happened
- Where it happened
- General descriptions
- Relevant circumstances
- Supporting information, where appropriate
Connect
Information can be reviewed alongside other legitimate reports.
One observation may mean very little. Several independent observations may reveal a pattern.
The system is designed to help trained personnel identify patterns rather than isolated incidents.
Review
Reports are assessed by appropriately trained personnel.
The goal is not to accuse people based on suspicion. The goal is to determine whether information warrants further attention through lawful channels.
Respond
When action is warranted, the matter can be referred to the appropriate emergency service, law-enforcement agency, child-protection authority, healthcare professional, or other qualified organization.
The public reports. Trained professionals investigate.This is not a vigilante network.
We don’t encourage people to confront suspected criminals, conduct surveillance, or follow, threaten, expose or investigate individuals. We don’t ask volunteers to put themselves or their families in danger.
You provide information. Qualified professionals determine what it means and what action, if any, is appropriate.
